Monroe Emergency Medical Service (MVEMS) is a volunteer-run and staffed, basic life support (BLS) ambulance service. MVEMS, provides year-round emergency service to the Town Of Monroe and mutual aid for surrounding towns covering approximately 20,000 people. To date, our membership consists of over 70 Connecticut Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) Emergency Medical Responder (EMR's) and others who are trained in CPR or awaiting EMT training.

Licensed by the state of Connecticut as a BLS ambulance, MVEMS has been providing quality emergency care for over 30 years. We respond to nearly 1100 calls a year and if necessary, MVEMS can request Advanced Life Support (ALS) assistance within minutes of any emergency.

MVEMS holds annual EMT classes on Monday and Wednesday nights, plus some Saturdays. The class is open to anyone ranging from medical professions to IT, stay at home parents, retirees to high school/college students. If you enjoy being challenged, are interested in learning life saving skills, or simply helping others, the EMT class is a great opportunity. You will learn all the skills necessary to ride on our ambulance and much more. Help MVEMS maintain its reputation as one of the top service groups in the Town Of Monroe.
